Director of Marketing and Communications (St.Petersburg, FL)
Job RequirementsMust possess bachelor's degree in a business-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
A minimum of eight years of successful work experience in a marketing department supporting product/service marketing initiatives is required. Prefer direct marketing or sales experience in veterinary or pharmaceutical sales, or within the manufacturing or distribution industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles/strategies is required
Must have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Access and CRM's
Excellent organizational and project management skills are essential
Ability to make presentations to large groups
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel as necessary required, approximately 25%-30% travel
The Director of Marketing and Communications will manage the marketing initiatives of the entire product and service portfolio and effectively communicate the value of the entire portfolio to its members and vendor partners. The Director evaluates new opportunities to differentiate company products and service initiatives, including creation of promotional materials, and maintains resources and data applicable to the specific initiative; assists with projects, analysis, and strategic plans, as necessary; ensures that daily work activities are compatible with the companyÃ¢ï¿½ï¿½s existing and future technology tools; and supports the company's marketing initiative programs and business plan objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works in conjunction with the leaders of Operations and Business Development, Membership Services and Finance to develop and administer new marketing and branding initiatives.
Manages and delegates as appropriate, requests for product information, literature, catalogs, contact information, sales data, promotion details, administrative matters, and data maintenance issues.
Collaborates with Henry Schein Animal Health Marketing and Communications departments.
Works to further develop and enhance PSI branding to position the Company to attract best talent in all departments.
Collaborates with Vendors on co-branded marketing initiatives.
Creates and maintains resources such as literature, vendor catalogs, and reference materials for the Marketing department relative to the initiative.
Responsible for maintaining all company website content, updates, interfaces, links and access to maximize user experience for PSI members, vendors and internal PSI customers.
Serves as frontline "go to" resource for area managers by researching and distributing reference materials to the field and leadership team in a timely and orderly fashion.
Organizes, maintains, and tracks display merchandise for the national and regional shows. Manages communication for state, local, regional, and company-sponsored meetings as assigned, providing presentation support over weekends and collateral as needed, and works with administrative staff to ensure that the PSI booth and display merchandise is shipped, set up, dismantled, and returned to PSI or forwarded to other shows.
Gathers, analyzes, maintains and disseminates accurate baseline information/data obtained from members, vendor relationship managers and vendors relative to the specific initiative to assist in establishing goals for overall company performance criteria and for use in company-related publications.
Manages data necessary for the development of detailed business and marketing plans which outline specific actions to achieve sales and market share goals/results.
Develops and monitors systems designed to ensure appropriate implementation of business plans and communicates results to all necessary parties.
Manages/assists the development of "targeted marketing" programs for the segments that are based on market share, best practices in the industry, and PSI growth needs.
Identifies and assists management with e-Business initiatives as they relate to the specific product, service and company.
Maintains the SOPs as they apply to aspects of the business, including data entry.
Performs other duties as required.
