Job Requirements
Requirements:Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or coursework in Marketing, Animal Science, Business Administration or similar field is preferred. Two or more years experience in a veterinary clinic or two or more years in a customer service/call center environment with an animal health distributor preferred. Experience in other sales fields will be strongly considered as well. Computer skills and telephone customer service skills are required. Candidates must have sales aptitude and the ability to learn a vast array of product lines.
Job Description
Major responsibilities of the position include:Answer incoming calls from veterinarians and their staff; utilize sales techniques to up-sell by informing customers of promotions, specials, new products, and programs; verify customer orders, answer questions about products.
Complete daily outbound calls per call-out list to inquire about customer needs and promote specials. Meet established sales and service goals and help to maintain and build sales at a profitable margin;
Communicate with field sales representatives to ensure timely and proper servicing of accounts and to ensure a team approach of account management. Assist Field Sales Representatives by placing orders, monitoring back orders and calling clients within the assigned territory with information about specials, back orders and programs. Work with Field representatives to build and maintain solid relationships with accounts.
Handle customer complaints and assist the client in research and purchase of non-stock items. Ensure all customer inquiries and concerns are resolved, updating the customer on results. Handle customer requests for credits and returns, issue customer return authorizations and follow up to ensure appropriate credit is provided to customer.
Maintain current customer account records and call sheets. Enter customer updates and coordinate dissemination of the information to others.
Participate in staff, in-house and vendor educational meetings; increase knowledge of products and updates and maintain reference tools for selling.
