QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE:Required
• A Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent) with an active license in one or more states is required
• 3+ years employment as practitioner
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written), including copy-writing ability
• Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat)
• Outgoing personality and the ability to function as a team player
Desirable
• Previous experience in sales, communications, education, specifically associated with veterinary nutrition
Job Description
The ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet® Scientific Services Veterinarian will develop and execute training and scientific communication programs to support the operational sales goals of the veterinary pillar. This position focuses on clinical services and training programs for practitioners and technicians in small animal clinics, and with the academic contacts in universities and technician schools. The Royal Canin team of Scientific Services Veterinarians fulfills a crucial role in the dissemination of scientific information regarding pet nutrition to the veterinary community. The Scientific Services team is also integral to the technical support and outreach services provided by Royal Canin, US.RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing nutritional case consultations for veterinary clinics
• Outreach to veterinary colleges and veterinary technician schools, and education for the veterinary community are major facets of each veterinarian’s duties.
• Development of marketing materials that are focused, clear, and effective at increasing awareness and understanding of the Royal Canin diet line.
• Assist in the internal training of associates during their tenure with Royal Canin
• Educate associates through regional and national meetings, conference calls, and direct trainings.
• Representing Royal Canin at national veterinary conferences
• Develop product sales through universities
• Initiate clinical trials in referral and general practice environments
• Maintain relationships with top clients and referral practices.
• Perform and develop nutritional seminars
• Through their professional activities, Royal Canin’s Scientific Services veterinarians will serve to perpetuate the values of ‘knowledge and respect’ and ‘animal first’ and promote the success of the Royal Canin Veterinary Diet line.
• Other responsibilities as assigned
