The Senior Associate Director, Pets Marketing will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies. This role will manage and develop team of marketing professionals. The incumbent will spend half of their time focused on Marketing or brand strategy and support implementation. The SR AD, Pets Marketing leads launch and long-term growth strategies for key accounts, service areas, or brands.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of strategic plans that optimize sales, market share and revenue growth for selected area of responsibilities.
  • Oversees development of strategic plans and launch plans for a set of brands or focus area in the short and long term.
  • Directs consistent execution of species business plan with internal and external cross functional team ensuring customer centricity goals are met.
  • Responsible for setting internal team expectations and training around customer centricity to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Identifies and acts upon insights using market research, industry trends, competitive intelligence, and understanding of therapeutic areas for business portfolio.
  • Ensures team members develop capabilities to use data sources to drive therapeutic areas for desired business results.
  • Forecasts and manages net sales and operating expense budget, including appropriate management of brand resources.
  • Oversees the promotional mix -- traditional forms of promotion with newly evolving technologies -- for the individual brand through appropriate resource allocation that meets brand objectives and customer needs.
  • Manages team to develop a robust sales and product supply forecast and ensures key tracking measures are in place.
  • Influences field force to meet and exceed customer expectations by following strategic plans for their entire area of responsibility.
  • Coaches, develops, and monitors team members' performance including MAG plans, timely feedback.
  • Identifies performance challenges, creates action plans, and monitors effectiveness of action plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and ten-plus (10+) years product marketing or field sales experience, of which six (6) years of marketing or relevant AH experience, includes but not limited to AH roles in field sales, technical support, customer care or veterinary practice.

OR

  • DVM and six-plus (6+) years relevant Animal Health industry experience.
  • Written and verbal communication skills along with excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop key stakeholder relationships.
  • Organization, planning & project management skills along with solid decision making & negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects & prioritize effectively.
  • Strategic thinking, initiative, and creativity and proven track record for innovation.
  • Ability to develop and evolve strategic & tactical elements based on research data & industry trends.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and gain buy in from stakeholders to deliver results in a matrix organization.
  • Entrepreneurial drive with proven track record of exceeding financial and other quantitative goals as well as qualitative goals.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Previous experience leading a larger scale business project including development & implementation of project plan and metrics and achievement of goals.
  • People leadership experience preferred.
  • Project leaderships with high visibility preferred.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
